Guangxi's container throughput up 46.2pc in 2010

SOUTH China's Guangxi province posted a 46.2 per cent increase in container port volume to 860,000 TEU and a 24 per cent growth in overall cargo volume to 185 million tonnes, reports Xinhua.


The overland freight volume grew 22.8 per cent while waterborne tonnage increased 31.4 per cent over the previous year. Provincial overall cargo volume was up 270 per cent while container throughput soared 400 per cent in 2010, compared to 2005 figures.
