Kerry Logistics buys Hong Kong school meal catering firm

KERRY Logistics has acquired Nine to Five (9-to-5), a school meals catering company from the Jardine Matheson group, and plan to expand its food trading business in Hong Kong.


The acquisition will complement Kerry Logistics' food trading and logistics businesses by increasing market share and enhancing coverage and competitiveness, said a company statement.


9-to-5 is one of the top 10 largest school meal service providers in Hong Kong established in 1991. Currently more than 10,000 meals are served each day to primary and secondary schools.


The acquisition includes a 18,500 square foot Food Production Centre in Tai Po, where meals are prepared. Kerry Logistics is committed to supporting environmental protection and uses recyclable lunch boxes. The company's food catering operations are ISO 9001:2008 accredited and HACCP certified.
