OKLAHOMA's Tulsa International Airport passenger traffic in January has increased four per cent to 200,033 passengers year on year while its air cargo shipments dropped by 2.3 per cent to 4,230 tonnes compared to January 2010.
The airport, which boast the largest maintenance hub for American Airline's, saw an increase of landing and takeoffs of 12.9 per cent to 8,888 in the first month of 2011. General aviation increased by 24.8 per cent to 2,547, military by 21.2 per cent to 1,750 and air taxi operations by 8.4 per cent to 2,135, reported the Tulsa World.
The airport's largest single revenue stream of parking is projected to reach US$6 million by June 30 when its fiscal year ends but it declined by five per cent in the month of January. But parking revenue was up year on year 4.6 per cent at 43,949 vehicles.
In terms of traffic, Oklahoma's busiest airport, Jones Riverside Airport, almost doubled January 2010 aircraft operations at 17,306, 47 per cent increase year on year.
