THE Air Cargo Africa 2011 international conference and exhibition will be held in Kenya's capital Nairobi at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre from February 22-24.

This first biennial expo and conference has been organised by STAT Trade Times, an international multi-modal transport trade media specialising in air cargo.

The organiser said that 1,437 visitors had registered for the event and the new CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde Gebriel Mariam, is among the speakers. Around 54 exhibitors, including the Ethiopian Airlines, are expected to showcase their products and services designed specifically for Africa's air transport industry, reports New Business Ethiopia online.

"We see Air Cargo Africa as an excellent chance to meet stakeholders from the whole gamut of the African air cargo market," Ram Menen, the divisional senior vice president cargo, Emirates Airline, was quoted as saying. "This region is hugely important to us and one in which we are keen to grow our operations moving forwards."
