UPSTATE New York's National Air Cargo (NAC) has received necessary federal permits to begin operating its National Airlines (NA) charter service, reports Buffalo Business First.
The Orchard Park company said the US Department of Transportation issued a foreign charter certificate to National Air Cargo for charter services. NA faces Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification before it can accept passengers.
National Airlines will fly a Boeing 757-200, which can seat 164 people though routes have yet to be determined, said NA president Steven Harrison, who called the DOT certificate a "very significant milestone".
The certificate allows NA to fly passengers, property and mail, and will increase NAC cargo services. NA will run from Ypsilanti, Michigan and operate scheduled and cargo charters.
