Union Pacific Railroad recently received Toyota Canada Inc.'s Logistics Partner Award for on-time performance and customer service. All freight transportation modes were measured against Toyota Canada Inc.'s award criteria.
Union Pacific and Toyota have a relationship spanning more than 20 years. Since 2009, Union Pacific has safely handled more than 1,000 carloads of the auto manufacturer's Canadian- bound motor vehicles.
"We have received this annual recognition from Toyota Canada Inc. since 2008, clearly demonstrating our commitment to providing award-winning service," said Mark Simon, Union Pacific senior business director - Autos. "Our transit performance gives us a competitive edge that we must maintain while focusing on continuing to improve in 2011."
Union Pacific directly serves vehicle assembly plants in the Western U.S., carries imported vehicles from West Coast and Gulf Coast ports, and operates vehicle distribution centers for all major automotive manufacturers.
