Cott Corp. enters iGPS plastic pallet pool

May 16, 2008 Logistics

Cott Corp., a large beverage retailer, has started to use the Intelligent Global Pooling Systems' plastic pallet pool to move its products.

Each iGPS pallet is embedded with radio frequency identification tags.

Cott is committed to innovation, product safety, a safe workplace and efficiency in the supply chain, said Rick Dobry, Cott's North American president, in a statement.

By switching to iGPS we are also demonstrating our commitment to the environment, as iGPS pallets help to reduce deforestation, require less fuel to transport and won't end up in landfills, Dobry added.

The durability of our pallet and its 100 percent top deck coverage will significantly reduce damage to cans and bottles that too often result from the shortcomings of multi-use wood pallets, said Bob Moore, chief executive officer, iGPS.
