Singapore Airlines filled 69.8 percent of the space available on its planes for passengers and cargo in December, reported Reuters.
The figure was lower than the 70.1 percent recorded in November and December 2009's 71.7 percent.
The airlines said the lower load factor was largely due to a 4.9 percent year-on-year increase in its capacity that the company put back in place to accommodate higher demand for air travel as the global economy recovers.
"The increase in capacity was the result of additional frequencies to several destinations including Manchester (via Munich), Houston (via Moscow), Osaka and Seoul," the carrier said.
