Jan 12, 2011 Logistics

A THIRD aviation accident occurred in Alaska in a week, and again no one was hurt, reports the Alaska Dispatch.

The accident happened in the southwestern Alaska village of Kipnulk, following a crash in New Stuyahok and another one in Platinum, more than 100 miles south of Bethel, earlier in the week.

"On January 6 about 1:47pm, Alaska State Troopers in Bethel were notified of an aircraft running off the end of the runway upon landing in the village of Kipnuk. The aircraft, a Cessna Caravan operated by Hageland Aviation sustained damage only. The pilot and copilot and three passengers were uninjured. The Federal Aviation Administration has been contacted and is currently heading up the investigation," according to the incident's briefing report.
