Price of Accident in Suez Canal

The repairing of the tanker “Star Hero” cost $1.7 mn. Because of short circuit the vessel, passing via the Suez Canal, lost its controllability and run aground.

The exploring was realized at a yard in Greece – there was found a serious damage of hull plate. The total weight of replaced steel was 73 tons.

According to the press-service of Rosgosstrakh, insurance companies paid $1 719 666.86 to the ship-owner - Polembros, including above $200 thousand paid by Rosgosstrakh-Stolitza
