Baltic Container Baselcement to Build Logistics Center

Baselcement plans to become the major supplier of building materials (sand, crushed stones, gravel) in Sochi. According to Kommersant, for this purpose the company is going to build a logistics center.

The center will be built on the area of 6 hectares, 3 km far from Imeriinskaya plain. Its capacity will totaled up to 3 mn tons of building materials per year.

Building materials will be supplied for Olympic objects.

Investments will total about $10 mn.

It should be pointed out that in September 2007 Basel Element announced its decision to build a port in Imeritenskaya Bay (Sochi). This decision was also explained by the needs to build Olympic objects in Sochi. It is expected that the port will be able to handle about 5 mn tons of cargoannually.
