Dragonair unveils aviation certificate scheme for young people

Jan 10, 2011 Logistics

DRAGONAIR, a member of Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Group, has offered a public educational aviation certificate programme for Hong Kong people between 18 and 24.

Jointly organised by Dragonair and the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, this mentorship scheme aims at fostering an interest in aviation in young people, which is the first time to open up to the Hong Kong public after entering its sixth year.

Each participant will be guided through an eight-month process with a Dragonair pilot acting as instructor. Also, industry specialists will hold lectures, training sessions, briefings and tours.

Sixty-six participants have graduated over the first five years of the programme. Some of them are now working in the industry with several joining Dragonair and sister airline Cathay Pacific as professional pilots.
