Cash rich Kuehne + Nagel plans China expansion

Jan 7, 2011 Logistics

Freight forwarder Kuehne + Nagel International sees sound growth chances in China, Swiss bi-weekly Finanz und Wirtschaft reported, quoting chief executive Reinhard Lange.

"China's export production is located on the coast today, which is becoming increasingly expensive," Lange said.

"In three to five years, I expect a partial relocation inland. For this, infrastructure is needed.”

Lange also said the company has some 1$1.05 billion in liquid assets and said according to the company's five-year plan it will invest $420 million for the expansion in India and China, among other investments.
