Brunei air cargo security men jailed six and 16 months for pilferage

TWO Bandar Seri Begawan air cargo security guards were sentenced to six and 16 months jail by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court after pleading guilty to theft charges.

On December 1, the thefts were reported at Brunei International Air Cargo Centre (BIACC) cargo storage warehouse. Three weeks later police implicated 25-year-old security man Ak Mohd Kamarul Zaman bin Pg Anak Hashim, and charged him with theft.

Further questioning revealed that 31-year-old security guard Sabnoorizal bin Sabtu was also involved, reported the Borneo Bulletin.

Ak Mohd Kamarul Zaman, who received a six-month jail term and Sabnoorizal, who was sentenced 16 months, confessed to the police that they had stolen five mobile phones from BIACC's warehouse while on duty.
