CHINA's government has announced a new rule to exempt vegetable trucks hauling tolls on all highways and expressways, so as to stabilise the price of vegetables, reports Xinhua.
Toll stations offer green channel for the trucks carrying vegetables, which can cut down the transport cost and time for agricultural products and make land-sea transport more convenient.
Apart from toll exemption, the government also controls the price by increasing vegetable supply and boosting production and in turn sales. Data from China's Commerce Ministry shows that the vegetable price has dropped 10 per cent compared with that of November.
