Container vessel to stop at Port of N.H. every Tuesday

Beginning this July, Tuesdays will become container cargo day at the Port of New Hampshire

A container vessel named the Seaboard Navigator will arrive every Tuesday morning at the Market Street terminal to drop off and pick up cargo on its way to Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada.

The Portsmouth port of call will be part of the New England Canada Express Short Sea Service, or NECA Express for short. Venture capitalist Dale Wood of Northeast Marine Development, which is leading the effort to do a container service in Portsmouth, signed an agreement with an Icelandic company called EIMSKIP ¡ª also known as the Eimskipaf¨¦lag Islands.

Wood said he selected EIMSKIP because it has a good reputation.
