Yamato Transport said today that a worker had failed to deliver some 21,000 direct mails and catalogues sent by 1,200 companies between November last year and this month, according to Jiji Press.
The delivery man, in his late 30s, working at a branch in Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture, western Japan, kept the undelivered packages at home and burnt some of them, according to the company.
He was fired immediately after the parcel delivery unit of Yamato Holdings learned of the problem.
