United Airlines to start Washington to Lagos, Nigeria service

UNITED AIRLINES is launching a new Boeing 767 service between Washington and Lagos, Nigeria, starting from December 12, subject to government approval.


The proposed flight schedule shows that flight 990 would depart Washington Dulles International Airport daily at 22.43 hours, arriving at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 17.35 hrs the next day after a stop in Accra, Ghana.


A statement from United posted on Business Wire said US-bound service from Lagos is expected to commence on December 13 with the departure of flight 991 at 21.30 hrs. After a stop in Accra, the flight will arrive in Washington the next day at 06.11 hrs.


Jeff Smisek, president and chief executive officer of United Continental Holdings, said, "This service will facilitate stronger commercial and cultural ties between the United States and Nigeria."
