Freight company Mainfreight posted a higher first-half net profit and was upbeat about the third quarter, reported Dow Jones Newswires.
The Auckland-based company said net profit, before unusual items, for the six months ended September 30 was US$12.74 million, up 52 percent from a year earlier. Total revenue was $497.92 million, up 20.4 percent from the same period a year earlier.
Looking ahead, the company said "sales activity and weekly trading results during October and November are further improved raising our expectations for a strong third quarter".
