Air freight shipper DHL will raise shipping rates for its US export and import services by 5.9 percent, effective January 2, 2011, reported Associated Press Newswires.
The company said the general average rate increase will be partially offset by adjusting the price threshold at which the fuel surcharge begins, cutting the fuel surcharge by two percentage points. That would make the overall increase total 3.9 percent, on average.
DHL said it adjusts prices annually to reflect inflation and changing costs.
