TSA to revamp cargo screening after foiled Yemen bombing

Nov 12, 2010 Logistics

THE US Transportation Security Administration plans to introduce new air cargo screening rules in the wake of the foiled Yemen parcel bombing.

TSA director John Pistole said he wants advanced screening technology and more flexible search procedures instead of a same-same "cookie cutter" processes used currently.

Plans in the air transport category include better data-mining capabilities to pinpoint and track potentially dangerous cargo.
