BACA votes Volga-Dnepr ‘Best Cargo Charter Airline’

Nov 2, 2010 Logistics

For the second year in a row, the Baltic Air Charter Association (BACA), the world's largest and most prestigious network for air charter professionals, has voted Volga-Dnepr Airlines as ‘Best Cargo Charter Airline’ in its prestigious annual Excellence Awards.
The 2010 award, accepted on behalf of Volga-Dnepr by the airline’s Sales Director in the UK, Dmitry Grishin, comes in the year that Volga-Dnepr Group celebrates its 20th anniversary. BACA announced the winners at a special presentation luncheon at the Guildhall in London attended by over 400 leading executives from the air charter industry.
Dick Gilbert, Chairman of BACA, said: “It’s a delight to see that the BACA members have voted Volga-Dnepr as a winner in the Cargo category for the second year running, which means that they can now keep the award permanently. This award reflects the quality and reliability of Volga-Dnepr’s services to its customers over the past 12 months.”
With the introduction of the AN-124 freighter into the commercial arena in 1990, Volga-Dnepr helped to create a whole new market for heavyweight and outsize air cargo. More recently, it has brought a new version IL-76-TD-90VD freighter into the global market and introduced Boeing 747 charter services to further demonstrate its commitment to providing its customers with the solutions they need.
Dennis Gliznoutsa, Group Commercial Director (Charters) of Volga-Dnepr Group, said: “We are extremely honoured to have won this award for two consecutive years. Recognition by the Baltic Air Charter Association is especially important to us because the award comes from respected leaders in the air charter industry, including our own customers. They are better placed that anyone else to determine which airlines best meet their requirements. Every charter flight is unique and brings its own complexities and challenges. After 20 years of successful operations, year-on-year growth and investment in our fleet, equipment and services, we hope we have signaled our commitment to being the highest quality, long-term partner of the worldwide air charter community.”
This is the fifth year of the BACA Excellence Awards. The Association’s membership of some 125 companies - including airbrokers, charter airlines, airports, business aircraft operators, freight forwarders, consultants and others – vote annually to choose the winners. BACA’s principal objective is to promote integrity and ethical business practices so members can deal with each other with confidence, regardless where they're based or whether they have met each other before.
