DHL widens Europe, Asia Pacific, Mideast express services

Oct 26, 2010 Logistics

GERMAN logistics giant DHL has introduced three new air express routes between Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific through contracts with AeroLogic, a DHL-Lufthansa joint venture..

"There is a continuously high demand for express transport between key markets, and new routes will provide more flexibility and add capacity where it is needed," said DHL Express CEO Ken Allen.

Following the delivery of AeroLogic's seventh Boeing 777F aircraft, DHL Express launched an early bird connection from Hong Kong to Leipzig.

This enables DHL to offer westbound DHL Express Worldwide next-day delivery service from one of the most important markets in the world. The company also added a Bangkok stop to its Leipzig-Singapore-New Delhi route to improve speed of delivery to the important southeast Asian market.

The new Brussels to Bahrain route, which went live on October 12, adds to the existing Leipzig to Bahrain connection and enhances DHL Express' ability to serve a high-demand trade lane that connects European and American markets to the Middle East.
