CARTER BAKER WINTER LLP and David Rubin & Partners LLP have been appointed joint Liquidators of MK Airlines Limited.
MK Airlines Limited was set up in 1990 as a cargo airline with its head office in Hartfield, East Sussex. The company had four additional UK operations at: Filton Airport (Bristol); ATC Lasham; Kemble (Gloucestershire); and Manston (Kent). The company also operated aircraft from Ostend in Belgium.
Its fleet included eight Boeing 747 aircraft and three Boeing 727 aircraft, and included assets owned or made available by third parties under funding/leasing agreements. The company voluntarily ceased flying operations in April 2010, reports the UK's Transport Intelligence.
MK Airlines had circa 360 employees who were made redundant prior to the appointment of the liquidators.
The report said the liquidators are currently securing the carrier's assets and reviewing the position of third party claims to the assets.
