AirBridgeCargo B747 delivers four aerobatic planes to China

RUSSIA's AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), the scheduled cargo airline of the Volga-Dnepr Group, has moved four aerobatic aircraft from Maastricht, Netherlands, to China for the second China International Sports Airshow in Laiwu.


The planes, were carried in a Boeing 747, said a company release, and first touched down in Beijing before being taken by road to Laiwu city in Shandong province, eastern China.


Each propeller aircraft weighed approximately 839 kilos and was 6.5 metres in length and a 7.3-metre wingspan. The four planes were disassembled into five sections to fit onto 12 main deck positions inside the B747.


The aircraft participated in an aerial display in the Xueye tourist area in Laiwu before 300,000 visitors and millions of television viewers. More than 1,000 aerobatic pilots demonstrated their flying skills and the capability of their aircraft during the four-day manoeuvre, said the release.
