Currently, Mr Crook is CEO of DHL Express for the Americas region, overseeing the management of all DHL Express business activities in close to 50 countries and territories in the Americas region. A successor for the CEO DHL Express Americas position will be announced in due course.

In his new position, Mr Crook is expected to sharpen DHL Express' focus on the international cross border shipping business in the APEM region by also concentrating on multinational corporations and small and medium enterprises, said a report by Logistics Week.

In a related development, John Pearson has been appointed as CEO of DHL Express Europe.

The 47-year-old, who has been with DHL Express since 1986, is taking on the role from Ken Allen who was acting European CEO. Mr Allen will now focus on his role as global CEO of DHL Express, reports RoadTransport.com.

A company statement was cited as saying: "Pearson is now tasked with further building the company's leading position in the international cross border shipping business in Europe. This includes operations in the UK."

Mr Pearson was most recently CEO of DHL Express for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, a role that will now be taken over by Roger Crook.
