GLOBAL parcel delivery giant FedEx Express has unveiled a new solution for shippers in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand that enables them to upload their international shipment documentation electronically with FedEx Electronic Trade Documents (ETD).
"The launch of ETD signifies another FedEx commitment to provide service features that improves efficiency and productivity," said David Cunningham, president, FedEx Express Asia Pacific. "Activated across multiple automated shipping systems, ETD helps customers save time and money while reducing their environmental footprint."
The method automates preparation and flow of international documents to ensure customers' international shipment documentation arrives earlier for broker review, streamline customs clearance by providing more time to identify and resolve any potential paperwork errors and eliminates manual paperwork, thereby reducing the risk of lost, missing or damaged paperwork and promotes a sustainable solution that lowers customers' carbon footprint by reducing paper waste.
One feature of ETD is the ability for customers to upload their own trade documents including company letterhead and signature images to trade documents created online from FedEx tools and templates. This will facilitate the customs clearance process, a company statement said.
