AN END is coming to Japan Airlines (JAL) flights to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport with the shutdown in service on September 29, reports London's International Freighting Weekly.
JAL freighter operations and an international passenger flights are being curtailed in the restructuring plan in the face of the airline's insolvency.
The Amsterdam run is part of JAL's last B747-400F service to north Europe, which has operated three times a week with the following rotation: Tokyo, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and back to Tokyo.
While the Schiphol call will end at the end of the month the European freighter service will continue until the end of October. Other reductions involve and the end to Milan and Rome services at the end of October and the shutdown of JAL offices there.
