Toll earns ISO 9001 for EME region

Sep 15, 2010 Logistics

Toll Global Forwarding has achieved certification under ISO 9001:2008 for the whole of its EME region spanning Switzerland, Germany, France, Netherlands, UK, Sweden and the UAE.

ISO 9001:2008 provides standardised requirements for quality management systems, and takes a systematic approach to managing an organisation's processes so that they produce consistent services that satisfy customer expectations.

“Achieving ISO 9001:2008 throughout Toll’s entire EME region will enable us to maintain and improve quality of service by ensuring total consistency in our standards and processes,” said Heiko Blume, director purchasing and quality – EME.

Before it can award a certificate of conformity, an independent quality system certification body must conduct an exhaustive audit of the company’s processes, so providing the added credibility of an independent assessment.

Implementing the systems that enabled Toll to achieve certification took the company six months. Certification and auditing was then handled by German ISO certification body AJA Registrars.

Toll’s ISO certification will be now be applicable to all the company’s future acquisitions in Europe and the Middle East, as the process of integration will now also include alignment and harmonisation of any new operations with those of the existing Toll network, resulting in a single quality management system and consistent standards throughout the region.
