CHINA AIRLINES, Taiwan's largest carrier, is commencing all-cargo services between Taiwan's Taoyuan Airport and the mainland cities of Xiamen, Nanjing and Fuzhou this month to meet rising demand.

The carrier has so far launched a weekly all-cargo flight between Taiwan and Xiamen in Fujian province. A similar service to Nanjing in Jiangsu province will start on September 11, reports Focus Taiwan TV.

The airline will also begin twice-weekly service to Fuzhou by the end of September, which will bring its total weekly cargo flights between Taiwan and China to 10 a week, and two more flights are planned to unspecified destinations in the future.

The cargo flights to Xiamen and Nanjing will operate Saturdays and the two weekly flights to Fuzhou have been scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays. Boeing 747-400F aircraft will operate these routes.

China Airlines currently operates cargo flights to Shanghai four times a week and to Guangzhou twice a week.
