CEVA Logistics has started an express cross-border transportation service for the oil and gas industry between the US Gulf Coast and the oil-rich Canadian Province of Alberta.
In response to demand from energy customers, CEVA created the Alberta Express service by buying and operating its own fleet of flatbed trucks to run the intra-continental route instead of relying on outsourced transportation, reports the American Shipper.
Some of the large equipment to be shipped north will be imported by ships calling at ports such as Houston.
"The market has changed drastically over the past two years and by offering this international service for our energy customers that's supported by CEVA's own facilities in the Gulf Coast and Alberta, we can truly become a one-stop solution," said CEVA vice president Bruce Hulings.
