CHINA's Hainan Airlines has announced its first half net profit grew 218.19 per cent to US$81.98 million, reported Xinhua.
The company, based on China's southernmost island province of Hainan, said the profit gain was because of an unexpected increase in demand. The firm anticipates to benefit from China's government plan to build Hainan into an international tourist resort by 2020, said the company's statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
