Aug 30, 2010 Logistics

CEVA Logistics has signed a two-year contract with Pet Line Company Limited, a pet food and accessories wholesaler and retailer in Hong Kong.

As a major part of the contract, CEVA will provide its home delivery service to facilitate a new service offering from Pet Line called Pet Home, which was launched at the end of July. Pet Home allows customers to place orders from home through Pet Home's telephone hotline as well as online through Pet Line's website.

Under the contract, CEVA will also provide inbound ocean freight management services for Pet Line's fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), as well as its wholesale products for veterinary clinics and pet shops.

In addition, CEVA will be responsible for managing a shop replenishment programme which includes warehousing activities such as storage, sort and repacking, and distribution for hundreds of product lines to Pet Line's 15 shops in Hong Kong.

Simmy Chung, marketing director of Pet Line, said: "We are happy to appoint CEVA to be our logistics partner, especially for our new home delivery service. It is part of our on-going effort to empower our customers and to deliver a simple and convenient shopping experience for pet owners."

Said CEVA south Asia business development chief Axel Herzhauser: "The logistics of home delivery is a specialist field. It requires excellent integration of warehousing and stock management, domestic transportation, professional driver teams and customer service when delivering products to customers' homes."
