JAPANESE air cargo carrier ANA (All Nippon Airways) plans to raise the number of freighter flights on its services connecting Japanese commercial centres to mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

"Demand for these routes has recovered remarkably during this fiscal year," the carrier was cited as saying in a statement, reports London's International Freighting Weekly.

From October 31, ANA will increase freighter frequencies from four a week to six on the Narita-Shanghai route that is operated by Boeing 767-300Fs. As for the Narita-Taipei route the frequency will rise from three a week to six. Narita-Hong Kong frequencies will increase from three times a week one-way to four.

The carrier also added weekly freighter calls at Qingdao, Dalian and Tianjin for uplift to Osaka or Narita, and resumed or increased frequencies on a range of services with bellyhold capacity linking Japan with major Asian hubs, the report added.
