THE European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has awarded Envirotainer with an airworthiness certificate for the company's newest development, the RAP e2 container.
The Envirotainer RAP e2 container is temperature controlled and features electrical heating and compressor cooling functionality to maintain strict temperature control in the toughest environments.
Designed for the extreme requirements of the healthcare and hi-tech industry the RAP e2 draws on the benefits of electrical heating and compressor cooling technology which Envirotainer first introduced to the market in 2005 with the launch of its electrical heating and compressor cooling container, the RKN e1.
As an LD-9 size container, suitable to fit five European or four US pallets, the new container can be used for large volume shipments throughout the supply chain as its base can be lifted by forklift and its container shell built has been completely redesigned in all composite material.
Following a four-year development and testing programme, the RAP e2 container maintains product temperature in the +2 to +8 degrees Celsius range, controlled room temperature (+15 to +25 degrees Celsius) range or at any chosen temperature between ? and +25 degrees Celsius in ambient temperatures from -25 degrees Celsius up to +50 degrees Celsius depending on the set temperature.
Envirotainer said in a statement that the RAP e2 containers will be gradually added to the fleet starting from September.
Thomas Persson CEO said: "Launching the RAP e2 container to complement our e-technology fleet is an important step in offering our customer the possibility to ship larger quantities of temperature sensitive goods with very strict temperature requirements. We have seen that this segment of the market is growing and so are the volumes of the individual shipments."
