Damco appoints new global head for sea-air product

SERGE TRIPET has been appointed global head of sea-air product in a newly created role at Damco's Air Freight department. He assumed his new duties on June 1, and is based in Copenhagen.

Serge Tripet brings experience in the areas of sales and marketing, air transport and logistics to his new role. He is 45 years old, a Swiss national and is fluent in French, German and English. He has held various management positions with Swissair and SWISS, Swissport and most recently as director of Cargo for Gulf Air. In his various roles, he has been based in China, Singapore, Switzerland and Bahrain.

"I am happy to be part of Damco which I see has a proactive and innovative organisation. I think the Damco air freight business has tremendous potential and I am proud of being able to contribute to Damco's growth strategy in air freight," said Mr Tripet in a company statement.

It said his primary responsibility is to further strengthen Damco's sea-air product, and his direct experience with field management, air cargo logistics and sea-air uplift, especially in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, "makes him well positioned to ensure a focused development and continuous expansion of Damco's airfreight services."
