AIR FRANCE-KLM posted a 1.7 per cent increase in global traffic in July compared to the same month a year earlier, while capacity was reduced by 2.1 per cent, but is 5.8 per cent higher than June 2009.
Traffic on the Asia network, its largest market, fell three per cent year on year in July to 407 million revenue tonne-kilometre(RTK), while capacity declined by 6.8 per cent. Traffic on its European network decreased by 4.2 per cent to six million RTK, while capacity was down 1.9 per cent, reports London's International Freighting Weekly.
On the Americas network, traffic rose by 7.9 per cent to 349 million RTK in July, while capacity in the region fell 0.3 per cent. The Africa and Middle East network saw traffic grow by 3.9 per cent to 152 million RTK, while capacity increased 7.1 per cent compared to the same month in 2009.
Year-to-date, the airline carried 3.78 billion RTK of cargo, up 7.6 per cent from a year earlier and capacity fell by 1.6 per cent compared with the first seven months of last year.
