Etihad cargo increases 21.6 per cent in second quarter

ETIHAD AIRWAYS has reported its strongest-ever first half performance, with air cargo tonnage up 21.6 per cent in the last quarter year on year.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline experienced double digit growth in the first half of 2010 with large increases in passenger traffic, which was up 11 per cent and revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) increased 22.6 per cent over the same period last year.

The growth in passenger numbers - to almost 3.3 million - was accompanied by a rise in seat factor from 71.5 per cent to 72.5 per cent.
