Hactl's July air freight volume up 27.7pc to 256,838 tonnes

HONG KONG Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), the airport's No 1 ground handler, has posted a 27.7 per cent year-on-year increase in July air cargo volume to 257,838 tonnes.

Cumulative tonnage for the first seven months of the year was 1,646,609 tonnes, up 36.7 per cent year on year, said Hactl.

Export volume for July was 140,030 tonnes, up 35.5 per cent year on year. Total export volume for the first seven months was 892,852 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of 44.6 per cent.

Import volume for July was 67,952 tonnes, up 22.5 per cent against July last year while import volume for the first seven months was 434,113 tonnes, year-on-year growth increase of 33.2 per cent.

Transshipment volume was 48,856 tonnes in July, indicating a year-on-year growth of 15.3 per cent with cumulative transshipment tonnage for the first seven months coming to 319,644 tonnes, up 22.2 per cent against the same period last year.
