THE trade volume of Manzhouli railway port increased 6.6 per cent to 10.6 million tones from January to May 2010. The imports were 10 million tonnes, indicating a year-on-year increase of 4.4 per cent, while the exports were 517,000 tonnes, showing a year-on-year rise of 97.1 per cent, reported Xinhua.
In June, the imports of petroleum through Manzhouli railway port were 724,000 tonnes, recording a year-on-year rise of 3.9 per cent. Other significant imported items included timber, 423,000 tonnes, rose 11.7 per cent, fertilizer, 15,000 tonnes, increased 155.3per cent; and materials for saws, 169,000 tonnes, up 75.5 per cent, according to the report.
