Moscow-Domodedovo wins IATA Airport Platinum Status

Jul 13, 2010 Logistics

MOSCOW's Domodedovo International Airport has been awarded the International Aviation Transport Association (IATA) Airport Platinum Status for joining an IATA programme to simplify business by switching to standard 2D flight information bar-coding on boarding cards.

The programme seeks to reduce costs at the largest of Moscow's three airports by implementing industrial standards such as electronic ticketing, use of radio-frequency baggage tags etc, according to Russian Transport Daily Report.

The IATA scheme allows the passengers to avoid loss of time during check-in and improves service. Bar codes on boarding cards contain all necessary data about the passengers during the journey.
