A RECORD-breaking journey ended after the world's largest aircraft, a Russian 175-ton Antonov 225 freighter, flew two prototype wind turbine blades from Tianjin in China to Denmark covering 7,480 kilometres.
LM Wind Power's new GloBlades are 42 metres long and were destined for the company's technology centre at Lunderskov, on the main Jutland peninsula west of Copenhagen.
This logistics job was achieved through close cooperation between LM Wind Power and Geodis Wilson the French logistics service provider.
The innovative, new blades made their mark in air freight history as the longest air cargo ever flown, according to the Russian Transport Daily Report.
