Boeing wins Aeroflot deal to provide 65 mid-range jets

US AIRCRAFT manufacturer Boeing has won a tender to supply Russian flag carrier Aeroflot with some 65 mid-range jets, beating out rivals Airbus and United Aircraft Corporation.

State-owned Russian Technologies (RT) conducted the tender for Aeroflot, reported the Moscow Times. Boeing, RT said, submitted the best offer technically, operationally and financially.

The company statement did not specify the number of planes to be supplied and the terms of the tender, announced in August at the MAKS air show, called for the buyer to purchase 50 planes with an option to buy 15 more in the future.
