Jade freighters to have Boeing's health monitoring system

Jun 10, 2010 Logistics

SIX Boeing 747-400 cargo freighters in Shenzhen's Jade Cargo International fleet will be equipped with a maintenance-based information system from Boeing to predict maintenance needs.

Jade Cargo will use the Boeing Airplane Health Management (AHM) system to monitor its fleet of six 747-400 freighters.

AHM is a decision support system that uses real-time aircraft data to provide fault forwarding, troubleshooting, and historical fix information to reduce schedule interruptions and enhance maintenance and operational efficiency by actionable information before, during and after aircraft flights.

The AHM system, provided via the www.MyBoeingFleet.com portal, integrates the remote collection, monitoring and analysis of data to determine the status of an aircraft's current and future serviceability or performance. It converts data into information to help carriers make fix-or-fly decisions, reported Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Military & Aerospace Electronics magazine.

The system sends alerts and notifications to airline personnel. "I believe AHM can extremely improve efficiency and reliability in our flight operation," said Jade Cargo CEO Kay Kratky.
