Logwin's Asian regional sales integration bears fruit

Jun 7, 2010 Logistics

Logwin saw its pan-Asian revenues soar following the integration of its sales operations in the Far East and South East Asia.

In the Far East for the first five months of 2010, import and export volumes in air and sea freight increased significantly, compared to the same period in 2009.

“We are delighted with the initial results of the pan-Asian sales integration program and we are expecting to see continued strong growth in the Far East and South East Asian regions as the initiative builds up momentum,” said Tomas Sonntag, Logwin managing director, Far East.

“Our customers are already benefiting from leveraging Logwin’s Asian network as goods and the flow of information will be managed by our own offices and IT system, saving time and money,” said Wolfgang Laube, managing director for Logwin in South East Asia.

The company, which generated sales of US$1.35 billion globally in 2009, also saw Asian operations buck the global trend last year with significant growth during the major economic downturn.

“Traditionally we have been very strong on the Asia-Europe trades as we have a substantial customer base in Europe including many international brand names. Our customers have driven our expansion in Asia initially as a manufacturing centre for their products and in recent years as a fast growing consumer market,” he added.
