Aeroflot sees cargo volumes, passenger numbers rise in April

RUSSIAN flag carrier Aeroflot recorded a cargo load factor in April of 64.5 per cent, up 13.7 per cent compared to the same month the previous year.


The carrier flew 794,100 passengers (including charter service with 200 people) in April which is 27.4 per cent higher than the same period a year earlier, and provided 2.491 billion p-km, up 38.6 per cent.


The passenger load factor totalled 76 per cent, an increase of 14.2 per cent year on year. International passenger traffic grew by 31.8 per cent and domestic passenger traffic by 20.9 per cent, according to Russian Transport Daily Report.


In January to April Aeroflot handled 3.137 million passengers and provided 729 million p-km. The passenger load factor totalled 73.7 per cent, an increase of 12.3 per cent year on year.


The cargo load factor was at 60.5 per cent, up 11.6 per cent.


Passenger traffic rose by 30.8 per cent during the four-month period and passenger turnover was up by 35.4 per cent.
