KERRY Logistics has signed a deal with an unnamed company in Fujian province city Xiamen on obtaining 5.3 hectares of land from the latter in Xiamen Haicang Export Processing Zone via share acquisition for building a logistics facility, Logistics Week reported.
EAS Kerry Logistics Group corporate development director Wu Zhefu said the move was an important step of the group's expansion strategy in light of the business opportunities brought by the Fujian province's plan to develop Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone.
The facility is estimated to cover 42,000 square metres, offering warehousing and other value-added services.
Based in Hong Kong, Kerry Logistics is operating over 170,000 square metres' warehouses and logistics facilities across the world and a fleet of over 5,600 trucks.
