May 27, 2010 Logistics

TOKYO International Airport (commonly known as Haneda) is to welcome twice-daily services from Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific after it pulled out in 1978 in favour of Narita International Airport effective October.

The carrier currently operates 91 passenger flights and 11 freighter services weekly between Hong Kong and Japan's cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo. Narita receives six flights a day of which five are direct and one via Taipei.

This will follow on from the expansion of two daily flights to Taipei June 11, July 1 respectively to a total of 84. Weekly flights to Jakarta will boost from 14 to 18 by September.
