GLOBAL NVOCC (Non Vessel Common Carrier) CargoGulf is continuing its expansion in southeast Asia with the opening of its seventh office at Port Klang, Malaysia.
The latest addition is intended to further enhance consolidation services to freight forwarders and logistics companies across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, a company statement said.
"CargoGulf Malaysia was opened in direct response to client demand for direct services in the country, and will help clients achieve economies of scale, thanks to the company's relationships with suppliers and overseas partners," it said.
Encouraging signs of growth in the Malaysian economy also drove the decision to open a base in the country, according to Hans-Henrik Nielsen, managing director of CargoGulf (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
"We believe that Malaysia will emerge as a strong alternative to the large economies of China and India, offering overseas clients competitive prices and high quality products," he said. "Our goal is to serve both domestic and international customers who recognise that potential, hence our decision to invest in this new office at Port Klang."
"It is part of our long-term strategy to grow, both regionally and globally, in key markets where it makes good business sense for us."
The new office joins CargoGulf's network with bases in Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bangkok, Dubai and Manchester.
