Kuehne + Nagel opens new logistics facility near Bogota

GLOBAL logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has opened a new logistics facility near the Colombian capital Bogota, in an effort bid to expand its integrated supply chain management solutions in the area.

The facility is seven kilometres from Bogota within the Siberia industrial complex, which comprises an industrial park, dry port as well as business and logistics centre.

Kuehne + Nagel's new facility consists of 10,000 square metres of warehouse and handling space and includes anti-seismic infrastructure, fireproof and state-of-the-art communication, monitoring, security and control systems.

From the logistics centre, Kuehne + Nagel will offer integrated supply chain management solutions.

"The initiative is part of Kuehne + Nagel's regional strategy to implement a network of modern distribution centres in South and Central America, serving a market that is constantly growing and requires additional and more sophisticated logistics services," a company statement said.
